Convultra records conversions server-side, including the 30 to 40% that browser pixels lose, and forwards them to your ad platforms. Setup takes about 5 minutes: create an account, add a project, install a script of about 10KB, and connect the platforms you advertise on. This guide is the written reference for each step of the onboarding wizard.
Start with a trial. Every new account starts with 14 days of the Growth plan free. You add a card at signup and the first charge is at the end of the trial; cancel before then and you pay nothing. Sign up at convultra.com/signup.
The onboarding wizard
After you sign up, a six-step wizard walks you through setup:
- Welcome. A short introduction to Convultra.
- Tell us about yourself. Choose I’m a developer, I have a developer or I’m not technical. This tailors the rest of the wizard.
- Create your first project. Set up your website, or skip if you already have one.
- Install tracking. Developers see code snippets. Non-technical users see platform options such as WordPress and Shopify. If you have a developer, one click emails them the install guide.
- Test a conversion. Confirm that events are arriving.
- Connect ad platforms. Link Google Ads now, or skip and come back later.
You can dismiss the wizard at any time. It picks up where you left off when you return.
Step 1: Create your account
Sign up with your email address and a password. Once you confirm your email you land in the dashboard.
Step 2: Create your first project
A project is one business or brand, and it covers every domain that business uses, such as your main site, shop and checkout. Click Create Project and fill in:
- Project name, for example “Main Website” or “Landing Pages Q1”
- Domain, for example
yoursite.com - Timezone, which decides where each reporting day starts and ends
- Currency, used for revenue and ROAS (USD, EUR, GBP and others)
When you enter your domain, Convultra checks whether the site runs on WordPress, Shopify or Wix. If it detects one, a badge appears under the domain field and the install instructions in the next step default to that platform.
You can change the name and domain later under Settings → Project, and the reporting currency under Settings → Data. See Managing projects for plan limits and the project switcher.
Step 3: Install the tracking code
How you install depends on your platform:
- WordPress. Download and install the Convultra WordPress plugin from your dashboard. No code is needed, and the plugin handles WooCommerce purchase tracking.
- Shopify. Add the tracking snippet to your theme’s
<head>section under Online Store → Themes → Edit Code. - Any other site. Copy the snippet from the Tracking health page and paste it into your site’s
<head>tag, the same way you would add Google Analytics:
<script async src="https://cdn.convultra.com/ultra.min.js" data-convultra-key="YOUR_API_KEY"></script>
If your platform was detected during project creation, the dashboard defaults to the right method.
Not a developer? Share Installing the tracking script with your engineering team, or use the wizard’s “Email my developer” option. The script is about 10KB gzipped and loads asynchronously, so it does not slow your site down.
Step 4: Connect your ad platforms
Go to Integrations and connect the platforms you run ads on. Google and Microsoft use a guided OAuth sign-in; OpenAI Ads connects by pasting an Ads API key. You need admin access to the ad account.
- Google Ads. Conversion forwarding and enhanced conversions are live. This is the connection that feeds Smart Bidding.
- OpenAI Ads. Conversion forwarding is live. Sending conversions needs a Conversions API key from Ads Manager as well as the Ads API key that connects the account.
- Google Ads, Microsoft Ads and OpenAI Ads. Ad spend sync is live, so the dashboard can show spend, blended ROAS and CPA.
- Meta, Microsoft Ads and TikTok conversion forwarding. Coming soon. You can read the setup that will apply in the integrations overview.
Step 5: See your first conversion
Once tracking is installed, conversions start arriving. Open the Conversions page in your dashboard. Your first conversion typically appears within a minute or two of it happening on your site.
If nothing arrives after 10 minutes, work through Troubleshooting.
