Convultra vs Cloudflare Zaraz

Cloudflare Zaraz is a third-party tool manager that runs at Cloudflare's edge: tags load off the browser's main thread, it comes with a built-in consent tool, and every Cloudflare tier gets a million free events a month. It can send events server-side to Meta, Google Ads and others. What it is not is a conversion tracking product with a recovery report, a delivery log or attribution. Many sites should run both.

When Zaraz is the right call

Pick Zaraz if page speed and consent on Cloudflare is the job

  • Your site already runs through Cloudflare and third-party script weight is the problem you are solving.
  • You want a free consent tool and a million free events a month, and you have someone to configure each tool.
  • You need Meta or TikTok server-side delivery today and are happy to manage event IDs and click IDs yourself.
When Convultra is

Pick Convultra if conversion accuracy is the job

  • You want a recovery number and a per-conversion delivery log rather than monitoring graphs.
  • You are not on Cloudflare, or you do not want tracking tied to your DNS provider.
  • You want click ID persistence, deduplication and hashing handled rather than built.
  • You want revenue, spend, blended ROAS and AI Attribution in the same place as delivery.
Migrating

You can run both for two weeks

Leave your current setup running and add Convultra alongside it. Shared event IDs mean no double-counting, and you get a side-by-side read on how many conversions each setup actually delivers before you cancel anything.

01 Install Convultra alongside Zaraz. Nothing is switched off. One snippet, a WordPress plugin or the GTM template, about 5 minutes.
02 Use the same event IDs in both setups so Google Ads collapses the duplicates. Convultra deduplicates on shared event IDs, so the parallel run does not inflate your numbers.
03 Run both for 14 days on the Growth trial. Compare delivered conversions, revenue and what the recovery report says the pixel missed.
04 Keep the winner. If it is not us, cancel and you owe nothing. If it is, switch the destination off in the old setup and leave Convultra running.

Convultra vs Zaraz, in short

Is Convultra better than Cloudflare Zaraz?

They do different jobs. Zaraz is better at what it is for: loading third-party tools at the edge for page speed, with a built-in consent tool, on a site that runs through Cloudflare. Convultra is better at conversion tracking: recovery report, delivery log with retries, click ID persistence and attribution. If you are on Cloudflare, running Zaraz for tools and Convultra for conversions is a reasonable setup.

Can I use Zaraz and Convultra together?

Yes. Zaraz can load the Convultra snippet as a custom tool, or you install the snippet directly. Zaraz keeps handling the other third-party scripts and consent; Convultra handles conversion capture and delivery.

Is Zaraz free?

Every Cloudflare account gets 1,000,000 Zaraz events a month free on every tier. Above that it was $5 per additional million at the time of checking, if you enable paid billing; if you do not, Zaraz is disabled once the allowance is used. An event is anything sent to Zaraz, including page views.

Does Zaraz do server-side conversion tracking?

It can send events to platforms like Meta and Google Ads from the edge. It does not persist click IDs across sessions, report on what the pixel missed, or show a per-conversion delivery status with retries. Those are the parts Convultra adds.

Does Convultra require Cloudflare?

No. Convultra works on any host or CDN. The first-party tracking domain is a CNAME you add wherever your DNS lives.

Does Convultra slow the page down?

The script is about 10KB gzipped and loads async. Zaraz's advantage is moving other people's scripts off the browser, which is a different problem from the one we solve.
