Convultra vs Stape
Stape is the best-known managed host for server-side Google Tag Manager, and it is good at that job: cheap, fast to provision, with power-ups that solve real problems like cookie lifetime and ad blockers. It is still a container you configure and own. Convultra is the other shape of product: a tracking service that captures, delivers and reports conversions without a container at all. This page shows where each one is the right call.
Based on publicly documented features and pricing as of September 2026. Competitor pricing checked 14 September 2026. Stape is a good product for what it does; if any of this has changed, tell us and we will correct it.
Pick Stape if you want to own the container
- You need arbitrary tags and destinations beyond ad platforms, and you want Google Tag Manager as the interface.
- You need Meta, Microsoft Ads or TikTok server-side delivery this month. Stape runs those tags today; ours are coming soon.
- You already have an analytics engineer whose job includes the container, and the per-request bill is small next to their time.
Pick Convultra if you want the outcome
- You want to know how many conversions you were missing, as a number in a report, not an inference from two dashboards.
- Nobody on the team wants to own a GTM container in perpetuity.
- AI assistants are sending you traffic and you cannot currently see it.
- You bill clients on ROAS and need delivery you can show them, per conversion, with retries.
You can run both for two weeks
Leave your current setup running and add Convultra alongside it. Shared event IDs mean no double-counting, and you get a side-by-side read on how many conversions each setup actually delivers before you cancel anything.

Is Convultra better than Stape?
For a marketer who wants accurate Google Ads conversions, a recovery report and a delivery log without operating a container, yes. For a team that needs custom tags, unusual destinations, or Meta and TikTok server-side delivery today, Stape is the better choice, because Stape hosts whatever GTM tags you build and our Meta, Microsoft Ads and TikTok forwarding is still coming soon.
What does Stape really cost?
The hosting is cheap: free to 10,000 requests a month, and Pro was $17 a month on annual billing for up to 500,000 requests at the time of checking. The cost that matters is the work: building and maintaining the container, deduplication, click ID handling and debugging when a platform rejects an event. Price the person, not the plan.
Does Convultra replace Google Tag Manager?
No. Convultra replaces the server-side container for conversion tracking. Your web GTM container can stay for everything else, and we publish a GTM template so you can install Convultra through it.
Can I run Stape and Convultra together?
Yes, and that is how we suggest you evaluate. Both run in parallel with shared event IDs so Google Ads does not double count. After 14 days you compare the numbers and keep the one that delivered more.
What about Meta Conversions API?
Meta forwarding from Convultra is coming soon and is not live today. If Meta CAPI is your main reason for going server-side right now, Stape with a Meta server tag does that job now.
Why is Convultra billed per conversion rather than per request?
Because a conversion is the thing you care about. A request meter counts script loads, preview sessions and bots hitting your tracking subdomain. Convultra counts tracked conversions, page views are free, and there are no overage fees. If you outgrow a plan two months running we move you up with seven days notice.
